COI Tracker LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Got Insurance platform at gotinsurance.io (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service.

By using Got Insurance, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information: When you register, we collect your first name, last name, company name, email address, phone number, and password.

Subcontractor Information: You may enter names, company names, email addresses, and phone numbers for your subcontractors as part of managing compliance.

Certificate of Insurance (COI) Documents: You may upload PDF files or photographs of COI documents. These are processed by an AI-powered parsing system to extract coverage data.

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including log data, browser type, pages visited, and time stamps.

Payment Information: Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number or payment details on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the Got Insurance platform
  • Parse and analyze COI documents using AI to extract coverage information
  • Track subcontractor insurance compliance on your behalf
  • Send automated email and SMS notifications regarding expiring or non-compliant certificates
  • Process subscription payments through Stripe
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account
  • Improve and maintain the security and performance of the Service

3. SMS Communications

By providing your phone number and the phone numbers of your subcontractors, you consent to receive SMS text messages from Got Insurance. These messages may include:

  • Notifications to subcontractors requesting COI submission
  • Expiration reminders for insurance certificates
  • Compliance alerts

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your account activity and compliance deadlines. You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact us at mack@gotinsurance.io.

We do not sell or share your phone number or your subcontractors' phone numbers with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. AI-Powered Document Parsing

Uploaded COI documents (PDFs and photos) are processed using the Anthropic Claude API to extract insurance coverage data such as policy types, coverage limits, and expiration dates. Document contents are transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing. We do not use your documents to train AI models. Please review Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com for additional information about their data handling practices.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers: We work with third-party vendors including Supabase (database and storage), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (SMS delivery), Stripe (payment processing), and Anthropic (AI document parsing). These providers have access to information only as necessary to perform their services.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.

Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure cloud storage via Supabase, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and subcontractor data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at mack@gotinsurance.io.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at mack@gotinsurance.io.

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Please contact us for more information.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
